Welcome to our official 12-Week Bible Reading Program at Shekinah – Kingdom Ready Nation! Over the next 84 days, we are walking through the Bible in chronological order — discovering God’s Kingdom plan as it unfolded throughout history.
DAY 26 | 1 Chronicles 1–16 |Remembering the Story of God’s People
The book of Chronicles revisits Israel’s history with a particular focus on the Davidic line and the worship life of the nation. The opening genealogies trace Israel’s lineage from Adam through the tribes of Israel, emphasizing God’s long-standing covenant relationship with His people.
These genealogies remind readers that the story of Israel is part of a larger redemptive narrative that stretches across generations.
When the narrative reaches David, the focus shifts to the restoration of worship and the return of the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem.
David organizes musicians and worship leaders, establishing a culture of praise that will shape Israel’s spiritual identity.

DAY 25 2 Samuel 13–24 Trials Within the Kingdom
Although David has been firmly established as king, the latter part of his reign reveals that leadership does not eliminate the consequences of past decisions.
The events in these chapters demonstrate the ripple effects of David’s earlier sin with Bathsheba.
Family conflict, rebellion, and political instability begin to challenge the kingdom.
One of the most painful episodes is the rebellion of David’s son Absalom, who attempts to overthrow his father’s throne.
David is forced to flee Jerusalem and endure the heartbreak of betrayal within his own family.
Despite these crises, David remains committed to trusting God’s justice rather than seeking revenge.
Eventually, the rebellion collapses, and David is restored to power.
The closing chapters of 2 Samuel include reflections on God’s faithfulness to David and the enduring stability of the kingdom.
Even in times of turmoil, God remains faithful to His covenant promises.

DAY 24 Psalms 1–41 | The Heart of Worship
While the historical books describe the political and national development of Israel, the book of Psalms reveals the spiritual life behind the kingdom. Many of the psalms in this first section are connected to the life and experiences of David.
These songs express the full range of human emotion before God—joy, fear, repentance, gratitude, sorrow, and praise. Through them we see David not only as a king but as a worshiper whose life is deeply anchored in the presence of the Lord.
Psalm 1 opens the entire collection by contrasting the path of the righteous with the path of the wicked. It establishes the foundational principle that true flourishing comes from delighting in the law of the Lord.
Psalm 23 portrays God as the shepherd who faithfully guides and protects His people.
Psalm 24 celebrates the holiness of God and asks who is worthy to enter His presence.
Psalm 32 and Psalm 38 reflect David’s repentance after sin, showing the freedom that comes through confession.
Throughout these psalms, worship becomes both personal and communal. They were sung in the temple, recited in prayer, and used to teach future generations about God’s character.
The Psalms reveal that the strength of Israel’s kingdom ultimately depends not on political power but on spiritual devotion.

DAY 23 2 Samuel 1–12 | David Established as King
With Saul’s death, David begins the process of becoming king over Israel. His leadership unfolds gradually as God unites the tribes under his authority.
David first becomes king of Judah and later king over the entire nation. Under his leadership Jerusalem becomes the political and spiritual center of Israel.
One of the most significant moments in this period is the establishment of the Davidic Covenant. God promises David that his dynasty will endure and that one of his descendants will reign forever.
This promise becomes one of the most important theological foundations in the Bible, pointing forward to the coming Messiah.
Despite David’s spiritual devotion, his reign is not without failure. His sin with Bathsheba and the arranged death of Uriah reveal the devastating consequences of moral compromise.
Yet David’s repentance demonstrates the power of humility and restoration before God.

DAY 22 | 1 Samuel 1–31 | From Judges to Kings: Samuel, Saul, and the Rise of David
The book of 1 Samuel marks a major turning point in Israel’s history. The period of the Judges is coming to an end, and the nation is moving toward a monarchy.
The story begins with the miraculous birth of Samuel, a prophet who becomes both spiritual leader and judge over Israel. Samuel restores spiritual direction to the nation and calls the people back to faithful worship of the Lord.
Yet Israel soon demands a king like the surrounding nations. Though the request reveals a lack of trust in God’s kingship, the Lord allows the establishment of monarchy.
Saul becomes Israel’s first king. At first, he demonstrates humility and courage, but over time, his leadership deteriorates due to pride and disobedience.
As Saul’s spiritual decline becomes evident, God chooses a new king—David, the young shepherd from Bethlehem. Though David is anointed by Samuel, he does not immediately assume the throne. Instead, he experiences years of testing and preparation.
During this period, David defeats Goliath, gains national recognition, and eventually becomes a target of Saul’s jealousy.
Forced into the wilderness, David learns to trust God during seasons of uncertainty and hardship. These years shape his character and prepare him for future leadership.
The book ends with Saul’s tragic death in battle and sets the stage for David’s reign.

The book of Ruth takes place during the dark period of the Judges, yet its story reveals a beautiful picture of redemption and divine providence.
Naomi and her family leave Bethlehem during a famine and settle in Moab. After tragedy strikes and Naomi’s husband and sons die, she prepares to return to Israel.
Ruth, her Moabite daughter-in-law, demonstrates extraordinary loyalty by choosing to remain with Naomi and follow the God of Israel.
Back in Bethlehem, Ruth meets Boaz, a relative who acts as a kinsman-redeemer, providing protection, provision, and ultimately marriage.
Through this act of redemption, Ruth becomes part of the lineage of King David—and eventually the lineage of Jesus Christ.
During national spiritual decline, God quietly advances His redemptive plan through ordinary acts of faithfulness.

DAY 20 Judges 13–21 - When Everyone Does What Is Right in Their Own Eyes
The final chapters of Judges reveal the darkest period of Israel’s early history.
The nation has drifted so far from covenant faithfulness that moral chaos dominates society.
Samson emerges as one of the last judges. Though gifted with supernatural strength, his personal life reveals the dangers of uncontrolled desire and spiritual inconsistency.
After Samson’s story, the narrative shifts to disturbing accounts of idolatry, civil war, and social breakdown.
